Deployed across 10 countries, Opio is helping Forvis Mazars Group (“Forvis Mazars”) bring specialised, secure agentic AI into the everyday work of international transaction services teams.

Transaction Services across borders

Forvis Mazars Group, the international leader in audit and assurance, tax and advisory services, helps clients prepare for what’s next by combining international scale and reach with local market expertise. In Transaction Services, that means bringing together teams that understand the financial, operational and cultural realities of each market while maintaining consistently high standards and delivering seamless collaboration across an engagement.

Grégory Volpi has more than twenty years of financial due diligence experience, including transactions across Europe, North America, Africa and Asia.

Pierre-Paul Jacquet began his career in Paris and now advises on global transactions from his base in London. Having been involved in over 200 deals on the buy and sell side globally for corporates and investors, he also set up and led the Group's Financial Advisory practice across Asia-Pacific from Singapore.

Their experience reflects a central reality of international transaction services: local environments vary, but clients expect the same support, quality and professional judgement wherever a transaction takes place.

"London is one of the world's most international deal markets. Our teams need technology that can support the same standard of analysis across businesses, reporting environments and jurisdictions. Opio was built for that reality."

One specialised approach, across 10 countries

Forvis Mazars has now deployed Opio across 10 countries, as a GenAI-powered solution to transform transaction advisory services and due diligence.

This breadth demonstrates that the platform is not tied to a single jurisdiction, accounting environment or way of organising transaction services. Each market retains its local expertise and professional judgement, while teams share a specialised approach to bringing agentic AI into their work.

For an international organisation, this matters. Innovation needs to travel across borders without imposing one country's operating model on another. A platform must be flexible enough to work within local requirements while maintaining a consistent level of quality, reviewability and control worldwide.

The team worked with Forvis Mazars to ensure deep domain alignment, embedded controls and humanintheloop review capability – streamlining complex workflows while preserving professional judgment.

This deployment, currently across 10 countries, gives Forvis Mazars a common foundation for adoption, while enabling each team to apply the technology to the realities and requirements of its own market and engagements.

From experimentation to adoption

Forvis Mazars views artificial intelligence as part of a broader transformation of professional services. The opportunity is not simply to provide teams with another tool. It is to embed new ways of working into the processes where technology can create meaningful value.

Before adopting Opio more broadly, Forvis Mazars conducted a nine-month pilot to test the platform from end to end. The pilot assessed more than the quality of individual outputs. It examined how Opio fitted into Transaction Services team workflows, how professionals reviewed its work, how teams adopted it and how it could be deployed securely across the organisation.

Opio worked alongside the Forvis Mazars’ AI team throughout this process. Transaction Services professionals identified the workflows that mattered. The AI team helped create the conditions for responsible adoption. Opio contributed technology and expertise focused specifically on the mechanics of the profession.

Together, they helped teams learn how to frame work for specialised agents, provide the right context, review the supporting evidence and decide when an analysis needed to go further.

"Adoption happens when the technology fits the reality of the engagement. Our work with Opio and our AI team is about helping people understand where agentic AI adds value, how to use it responsibly and how it can strengthen the quality of their work."

Security as a foundation for scale

Responsible AI and security was a core requirement defined by Forvis Mazars in the selection and deployment of Opio.

It was considered from the beginning of the pilot, not added as a final technical review. Opio worked closely with Forvis Mazars IT teams to understand their requirements and prepare deployments adapted to the firm's infrastructure and governance standards. All outputs are subject to mandatory professional review, ensuring accountability, transparency and human oversight.

The solution operates exclusively on secure client data rooms, does not train on client data and preserves strict confidentiality. Forvis Mazars wanted to ensure full traceability, with clear audit trails linking outputs to source documents. This ensured the essential compliance with data protection regulations, internal AI governance and professional standards, mitigating bias and operational risk by design rather than after deployment.

Opio was also able to be deployed on premise, giving Forvis Mazars greater control of where sensitive information is processed and how the platform fits within its technology environment.

This flexibility is critical for an international organisation. Local requirements may vary, but every deployment must provide the confidence required for teams to use the technology on live engagements.

"Security was a major criterion from the start. Opio worked through our IT requirements and could support an on-premise deployment, giving us the confidence to move from a nine-month pilot to broader adoption."

Why Forvis Mazars chose Opio

Forvis Mazars was not looking for a general-purpose AI platform. It needed a specialist that understood Transaction Services, could operate across an international organisation and could meet the professional, IT and legal standards required for deployment.

Opio's focus on the profession made that possible. Its team understood the workflows and level of scrutiny required on a live transaction. The platform passed the firm's business, IT and legal review, while its deployment model could be adapted to the security and infrastructure requirements of different countries.

Deploying Opio across financial advisory engagements has streamlined transaction and accounting review workflows.

Overall, this solution reduces manual document review, accelerates due diligence timelines and improves consistency across complex engagements. Its advisors can spend more time on professional judgment, risk assessment and client dialogue rather than data processing. Clients benefit from faster deal execution, clearer financial insights and an improved experience in timecritical transactions.

The result is a solution designed not only to introduce agentic AI, but to make it usable, trusted and relevant in the everyday work of international deal teams.
